NEWTON, NC (Oct. 28, 2016)—The Newton Appearance Commission is planning its A Time to Remember luminary project again this year.
Loved ones who have passed away will be remembered with memorial boards listing their names, as well as with a memorial tree, at Yount Park. The park is located at the corner of East A Street and College Avenue in Downtown Newton.
The project will begin on the night of Light Up the Town on Nov. 27 and will run through Jan. 1.
The memorial display at Yount Park will be available 24 hours a day for the entire holiday season, providing citizens time to visit the site and view the names of their loved ones. The luminary project began in 1991.
To add your loved one’s name to the remembrance list, contact Marcie Winkler at 828-695-4317 or firstname.lastname@example.org by Nov. 11. If a name has been displayed in the past, there is no need to call or email.
