NEWTON, N.C. - We're working on a new Parks and Recreation Master Plan, and we need your help!
Please click here to take a survey and share your input about Newton's parks, recreation activities and more. The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and aims to find out what people love about Newton’s parks and what areas need improvement.
The completed master plan will focus on seven dimensions of health: physical, environmental, social, intellectual, spiritual/cultural, occupational/economic and emotional wellness. The plan will identify the current state of the Parks and Recreation Department’s facilities, parks, greenways and activities. Recommendations that enhance the overall wellbeing of Newton’s residents and promote healthy lifestyles will be included in the plan.
"Our mission is to improve the quality of life of all our citizens," said Parks and Recreation Director Sandra Waters. "With the responses from this survey, we’ll be able to tailor the new master plan to fit the specific needs and wishes of the people we serve."
The city is working with Sage Design, a North Carolina-based landscape and architecture firm, to complete the plan. The firm has more than 20 years of experience focusing on parks and recreation.
