Yard of the Month

Newton seeks nominations for Yard of the Month

NEWTON, N.C. – The City of Newton Appearance Commission works all year to make sure Newton looks its best. Each spring and summer, the commission recognizes yards that dazzle passersby with lush grass, bright flowers and leafy foliage by presenting their owners with the Yard of the Month honor.

Do you or someone you know have a yard that deserves recognition? The Appearance Commission is now accepting nominations for Yard of the Month. Members will choose a yard each month from May until August. Selection will be based on landscaping and overall aesthetics.

A certificate will be presented to the homeowner selected each month. The winner of the award will be presented with a Yard of the Month sign to display in their yard that month. Winning residents and their yards will be featured in the city’s media releases, and a news release announcing the winner, including photos, will be submitted to area newspapers.

To nominate a yard, complete an entry form today!
