Newton Strategic Plan public forums begin Thursday
NEWTON, N.C. –Newton will host public forums for the Newton Strategic Plan from 5:30-7 p.m. each Thursday in March in the Gantt Room at City Hall.
The first forum will focus on economic development. Representatives from the Western Piedmont Council of Governments will present information about trends in population, housing, employment, income, poverty and permit activity.
Details about the public forums include:

» 5:30-7 p.m. March 12: Infrastructure and public facilities
» 5:30-7 p.m. March 19: Transportation
» 5:30-7 p.m. March 26: Public safety
The Newton Strategic Plan will establish a vision for the future of Newton that allows city staff, council and residents to work together ensure the city’s continued success in the 21st century. Input from Newton’s residents is essential to the plan.
