Appearance Commission accepting Yard of the Month nominations

NEWTON, NC (April 2, 2014) – Do you or someone you know have a yard that deserves recognition? The Newton Appearance Commission invites you to nominate that special yard for the prestigious Yard of the Month honor.

The Newton Appearance Commission is now accepting nominations for the honor. The commission awards one yard per month from May through August and selection is based on attractive, well-maintained landscaping and overall aesthetics.

A certificate is presented to the homeowner chosen for the honor each month. The Appearance Commission also presents a “Yard of the Month” sign to display in the yard. The winners and their yards are featured on the City of Newton’s website, social media sites and in the citywide newsletter.
