Water Treatment Plant releases 2013 CCR

NEWTON, NC (Feb. 5, 2014) – The City of Newton proudly presents the annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) for the year 2013. The details of the CCR highlight the quality of water and service the City currently provides. This report includes test results for all state required CCR monitoring contaminants.

The City of Newton Water Treatment Plant staff takes pride and is committed to producing the safest, most aesthetically pleasing water possible. The plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is never left unattended. The North Carolina Division of Water Resources has recognized the City of Newton Water Treatment Plant for the past 11 consecutive years with the Area Wide Optimization Program Award. Newton has received the award since the inception of the program.

The City of Newton Water Treatment plant is staffed by very capable operators with many years of service. Each operator has obtained a license from the State of North Carolina and receives at least 6 continuing education hours a year.
