NEWTON, NC (Aug. 8, 2013) – Mission Medical Primary Care hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony Wednesday to celebrate its opening in Newton. The new clinic is located at 121 West B St.
“We would like to welcome you here,” Mayor Anne P. Stedman said at the ceremony. “This is a great building, and you’re putting it to good use. I’m glad to see you’re in it and I hope you do well.”
The facility is a nurse practitioner practice with a supervising physician. Lauri Black and Dianna Rhodes will serve as the nurse practitioners.
Black said the clinic provides the same services as any other family practice, and it has a full service lab.
Rhodes said, “One of the things that makes us unusual is we accept people without insurance and the under insured.”
Black said operating the clinic gives those without insurance a place to go. The clinic accepts anyone, and will make referrals for patients that need care beyond the practice’s scope.
Mission Medical Primary Care also offers Spanish translation for patients seeking medical service. The clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 828-994-4544.
UPDATE: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that Mission Medical Primary Care was an expansion of Mission Medical Family Care. The two medical facilities are separate operations. We apologize for this error.
