Newton, NC (June 17, 2013) - The Newton Parks & Recreation Department has announced plans for the 21st Annual 30-60-100 Mile Century Bike Ride at 8 a.m. Sunday, August 18. The event complements Reunion Week events in Newton. The ride’s mass-start begins at the Newton Rec Center, 23 S. Brady Ave.
Carolina Glove & Safety Company, Carolina Orthopaedic Specialists, Cook’s Sporting Goods, Geppeto’s Pizza & More, Lee Industries, Pepsi, Rock-n-Road Bicycles, Subway, Therapeutic Solutions, Tadlock’s Trophies and Texas Roadhouse are event sponsors.
The ride offers three scenic routes throughout Catawba County. The ride is open to all ages, however, those under 18-years must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while participating int his event. Refreshments, t-shirts, first aid and more will be available for all participants.
The pre-registration fee is $20 and continues until 5 p.m. August 14. After that date, the late registration fee is $25.
