NEWTON, NC (May 24, 2013) – Start your day with a free biscuit and sausage on June 5 as Renwood Mills, formerly Midstate Mills, hosts the third annual Southern Biscuit Day in downtown Newton. The event runs from 7 a.m. until noon at the 1924 Courthouse Square.
Grab a sausage biscuit if you’re on-the-go, or stay awhile and learn how to make biscuits from the mill’s baking experts.
Renwood Mills will be baking biscuits from scratch using Southern Biscuit® Formula L Biscuit Mix and buttermilk. The Newton mill is just steps away from the town square and has milled southern flour for over 75 years. Several publications have recognized Southern Biscuit flour as "the flour" to use for ideal biscuits.
To add to the perfect biscuit, Neese’s Sausage will be cooking sausage and liver pudding. Family-owned and operated, Neese’s has made sausage for nearly 100 years in Guilford County.
