Elks Lodge honors Chapman as Firefighter of the Year

NEWTON, NC (April 11, 2013) – The Newton Elks Lodge recently recognized Edward Chapman as City of Newton Firefighter of the Year.

The Newton Elks Lodge honored Edward Chapman for his dedication to the fire service.

Chapman said, “I was surprised and honored by the award. I thank everybody that had a hand in training me and getting me to where I’m at today.”

In 2012, he logged in more than 120 hours of training. He is certified as a Level I�€ˆFire�€ˆInspector, Level 2 Instructor and Fire Officer II.

Chapman has been employed with the City of Newton Fire Department for 14 years. He has been married to his wife, Tonya, for 17 years and they have a son.
