NEWTON, NC (March 26, 2013) – The City of Newton on Monday welcomed new thrift and consignment store Vee’s Variety to the Marketplace Shopping Center. Located at 2725 Northwest Blvd, Vee’s Variety offers collectibles, furniture, clothing, shoes and more.
Owner Kala Guido said, “We saw a need in this area for people to be able to get things for a reasonable price, and to just get things they like. It’s exciting to be able to do that here in Newton.”
Mayor Anne P. Stedman welcomed Vee’s Variety and noted the foot-traffic in the shopping center would attract customers.
“I wish you all the success in the world,” Mayor Stedman said.
Guido said this is her first venture into opening a thrift store. After attending an auction with her father and brother, she realized antiques and collectibles could be sold at a reasonable price.
Guido added, “I’m just happy to have the support of my brother, my dad and the whole City of Newton.”
Vee’s Variety is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. For more information call 828-465-0070 or visit www.facebook.com/VeesVariety.
