Martha's thrift store re-opens in new location

NEWTON, NC (Jan. 11, 2013) – Find a deal at Martha’s Bargain Thrift Store and Consignment, now located at 2704 N. Main Ave. The business held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate the opening of its new location.

The store offers clothing, shoes, furniture, toys and more. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Owner Martha Navarrete said she’s excited to re-open the store in a building that she and her husband, Pedro Navarrete, now own.

Mayor Anne Stedman said, “We welcome you to this new location in Newton. I wish you great success in this new setting and hope it will bring attention and business to your store.”

Martha’s Bargain Thrift Store first opened in Conover before moving in 2010 to Plaza Latina on Northwest Boulevard.

Navarrete said the newest location on North Main Avenue has great visibility and anticipates that the high-traffic Main Avenue will entice many new customers to visit the store.

Newton City Council Members, Newton Business Advisory Committee members, Downtown Newton Development Association members and friends and family also attended the ribbon cutting ceremony.
