Back in Time Amusements hosts ribbon cutting

NEWTON, NC (Jan. 8, 2013) – Get your game on and escape to the “beach” at a new business in the City of Newton. Back in Time Amusements offers “old time fun and games” in the Catawba Village Shopping Center.

Back in Time Amusements, 815 Conover Blvd. West, held a ribbon cutting ceremony Monday to mark its opening. The business offers beach bingo, pinball, air hockey, board games, ping pong, darts and cards among its many games.

There are plans to add live entertainment and dancing too. No alcohol is served on the premises.

Owner Jeff Harris said he wanted to provide a place for people in Newton to have some good old fashion fun and none of the games are on computers.

“I look forward to seeing your business grow, and I wish you the best for 2013,” Mayor Anne Stedman said at the ribbon cutting.

Newton Council Member Mary Bess Lawing also attended the ribbon cutting event, along with members of the Downtown Newton Development Association and Newton Business Advisory Committee.

Back in Time Amusements is open from 4:30 p.m. to midnight Wednesday through Sunday. Bingo begins at 5 p.m. For more information, call (828) 464-5680 or visit www.backintimepage.com.
