Cycle NC Mountains to Coast Tour
NEWTON, NC (Sept. 24, 2018) - The City of Newton is proud to be a rest stop for the Cycle NC Mountains to Coast Tour. More than 950 cyclists will be riding 450 miles across the state from Black Mountain to their final destination at Oak Island.
The Newton Parks and Recreation Department (23 South Brady Ave.) will be one of the rest stops welcoming riders to town on Monday, Oct. 1, from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Riders can look forward to this stop on the tour as it will feature the Urban Flavor food truck and ice cream provided by Mooresville Ice Cream. Volunteers will be grilling hot dogs, as well as serving pimento cheese sandwiches, popcorn and more. Local businesses will be donating products made in Newton, and downtown merchants will be open for riders and families to visit.
