The new Love’s Travel Stops is located at 1760 Southfork Drive at the intersection of N.C. 10 and U.S. 321.

Founded in 1964, Love’s has more than 430 locations in 41 states. Love’s provides professional truck drivers and motorists with 24-hour access to clean and safe places to purchase gasoline, diesel fuel, travel items, electronics, snacks, and more.

A selection of restaurant offerings is available at Love’s, and a Hardee’s restaurant adjoins the new travel stop. An on-site Love’s Truck Tire Care center offers roadside assistance, tire care, and light mechanical services for professional truck drivers. Showers, CAT scales, and other services for professional truck drivers are also available. Love’s, which is family-owned and operated, employs more than 17,000 people. The company is headquartered in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Dave Hanson, Love’s district manager, thanked the City of Newton and other officials for working with the company to complete the project.

“As a company, we’re currently rapidly expanding,” Hanson said. “We have over 400 stores, and this location is another feather in our hat.”

“This is a great development,” Newton Mayor Anne P. Stedman said. “We couldn’t have asked for a better project. I want to thank you and welcome you to Newton. If we can help you in any way, please let us know.”

Philip Moore welcomed Love’s on behalf of the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce.

“We are very excited,” Moore said. “I drive up and down this road three or four times a week, and I’ve always felt like there was a void. You guys are filling it perfectly.”
