Studio562 Ribbon Cutting

NEWTON, N.C. (July 28, 2017)—Newton welcomed Studio562 to the city during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 26. The new photography studio is located at 1114 North Main Ave.

Studio562 offers studio and on-location photography. Owner Penny Lail, an experienced photographer, opened the studio because she is interested in building up a business of portrait parties.

The comfortable studio is lined with examples of her work, and she looks forward to hosting girls’ night out parties, painting parties, and themed children’s parties—all with the chance for guests to have their portraits made. She has partnered with Once Upon a Time Entertainment to offer classic fairytale characters at Studio562’s parties.

Although her business is new, Studio562’s location in North Newton has a history in Lail’s family. Her stepfather operated a barber shop in the same location for years, and the building is still owned by her family.

“I’ve had a lot of support from family and friends, and I’d like to thank them for that,” Lail said of opening her business.

“We want to welcome you to Newton,” Mayor Anne P. Stedman said. “You’ve got a lot of support, and we’re here to help.”

Photos from the ribbon cutting ceremony are available on the city of Newton’s Facebook page.
