NEWTON, NC (Nov. 18, 2016)—The Newton Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor a free Basketball Skills Clinic for players and coaches on Saturday, Dec. 10.
Boys and girls are encouraged to participate, as are people who coach youth basketball. Newton-Conover High School coaches and players will be the instructors for the clinic. Emphasis will be placed on basic basketball fundamentals, skills, various drills, organization of practices, and player development.
Mighty Mites (co-ed ages 4 to 6), Bantam Boys (ages 7 to 8), and Bantam Girls (ages 7 to 9) will meet from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Midget Boys (ages 9 to 10), Midget Girls (ages 10 to 12), and Little Boys (ages 11 to 12) will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The clinic will be held in the gym at the Newton Recreation Center, located at 23 South Brady Ave.
