Country Corner 2nd Time Around ribbon cutting

NEWTON, N.C. (Nov. 3, 2016)—Newton welcomed Country Corner 2nd Time Around to the city during a ribbon cutting ceremony Nov. 2.

Owned by Travis Docalavich and April Parlier, the new business offers a wide selection of new and gently used items for resale, including clothing, jewelry, accessories, furniture, tools and toys. Country Corner 2nd Time Around is located at 1908 North Rankin Ave.

“We try to have something for everybody,” Docalavich said. “We get different items in all the time.”

Docalavich and Parlier operated Country Corner Consignment in the Balls Creek community for about a year before recently opening the new store. They enjoy meeting their customers and always being on the lookout for new items to sell. They scour yard sales, estate sales and websites to find bargains to pass on to their customers.

“I enjoy this,” Docalavich said of the new business. “You never know what you might find. It’s all about the fun of the pick.”

Something that distinguishes Country Corner 2nd Time Around from other resale shops is that they turn over their merchandise quickly, which allows customers to see new items every time they visit, Docalavich said.

With the holidays almost here, the shelves at Country Corner 2nd Time Around feature Christmas ornaments and decorations, and a delivery of fresh Christmas trees from the North Carolina mountains will arrive soon.

“We’re happy to welcome you to Newton,” Mayor Anne P. Stedman said during the ribbon cutting. “I wish you success here.”

Photos from the ribbon cutting are available on the city's Facebook page.

Country Corner 2nd Time Around is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call 704-325-3619 or visit their Facebook page.
