Elena' Nails Bar Ribbon Cutting
NEWTON, N.C. (Nov. 2, 2016)—Newton welcomed Elena’ Nails Bar to the city during a ribbon cutting ceremony Nov. 1.
Owned by Kevin Vo and Loan Ngo, the new salon offers manicures, pedicures, waxing and eyelash extensions. The couple named the business after Ngo’s niece, Elena. The business is located at 106 East D St.
Although Elena’ Nails Bar is new to Newton, Vo and Ngo have the experience needed to take care of their clients. He has more than 15 years of experience in nail salons, and she is a veteran of the fashion industry. They recently moved to North Carolina from Las Vegas.
“We fell in love with this town,” Ngo said. “It’s so cozy.”
Ngo’s mother lives in the area, and the couple moved back so they could be closer to her. They scouted locations in Mooresville and Statesville, but they said Newton, with its friendly residents and small-town charm, seemed like the perfect fit for their business.
“I want our clients to relax when they come in here,” Vo said. “I want it to feel like home.”
Vo and Ngo transformed the inside of the salon with fresh paint, a comfortable waiting area, massaging chairs for pedicures, and new counters for manicures. They expect to begin offering facials in the near future. The salon is available for rental for birthday celebrations, girls’ nights out, and other special occasions.
“You’ve done a wonderful job renovating this space,” Newton Mayor Anne P. Stedman said to Vo and Ngo during the ribbon cutting. “We wish you the best of luck, and we’re here to support you.”
Photos from the ribbon cutting are available on the city's Facebook page.
The salon is open 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday.
To celebrate their grand opening, Elena’ Nails Bar will offer a 20 percent discount on their services for a limited time. For more information or to make an appointment, please call Elena’ Nails Bar at 828-994-4216. Their website, www.elenanailsbar.com, will be live later this week.
