The police department has two school resource officers that provide protection and services to Newton-Conover City Schools. Mst. Mike Cline is the resource officer for Newton Conover Middle. Mst. Cline has been with the department since 2006 and served as patrol officer and community police officer prior to moving to the middle school.
Ptl. Jeff Longstreet is a recent new hire at Newton police. Ptl. Longstreet served as school resource officer at Hickory High School prior to coming to Newton. Ptl. Longstreet has been serving road patrol but just recently moved to Newton-Conover High School as the resource officer.
